CHEER-IOS!

HOME SWEET HOME & I couldn't be more happy with the outcome of today! If you've been under a rock as far as my blog goes, you might not have known that the high school cheerleaders that I've been working with have competition today & Sunday. Let me just say, that these girls WORKED their TAILS off! It's so strange to go from being out on that competition mat, to in the coaches section.. and I must say that it is TEN times more nerve racking! All the nerves were completely unnecessary because our girls brought their BEST performance yet. Here's a video of their routine, choreographed & coached by my friend Ashley & I. Not bad for our first time..if I do say so myself! ;) Please excuse the two idiots cheering in the coaches corner.. & enjoy!

No clue where they learned that booty poppin' from ;) haha! Congrats girls on all of your hard work! No matter the outcome at awards tomorrow, they did their very best! Today's performance counts as 30% of their overall score, and tomorrow is 70%, and as of today.. they are in FIRST PLACE! Aside from all the hectic events of competition, my house has been rather calm for once. I FINALLY.. after much begging.. got my dad's Gumbo recipe, that I assumed was going to be put away & given to me in his will. He doesn't write it down, so he sat on my couch for 30 minutes while I scribbled away frantically on my notepad. Although half of the things he was saying had NOTHING to do with the Gumbo, I FINALLY got the entire thing written down, tried it out, and made it PERFECTLY! Let me just tell you, this is about as rewarding as winning the lottery & if it doesn't seem like it to you, then you probably haven't tried his gumbo! Unfortunately, I can't post the "secret recipe" on my blog. SORRY GUYS :( Today has been a LOOOONG day & tomorrow is no exception, which means for a short blog & leftover Gumbo BOTH days (it lasts forever!) I'm not forcing my boys to miss Super Bowl Sunday to come watch a bunch of cheerleaders; 1) I'll be very very busy with the girls & waiting around for results and 2) I don't want to hear either one of them whining & complaining about it on the way home! I can just see/hear them now! Aside from gumbo on the menu tonight, I made these cute Valentine's day cookies.. & excuse me for always using store bought dough, it's just SO simple & tasty! I don't think I could ever steer away from good ol' Pillsbury or Tollhouse, unless I was offered a recipe twice as good, and at least half as fast. Anyway, I found letter cookie cutters at Hobby Lobby, and scooped up the X and the O. Rolled out some sugar cookie dough, cute them out, baked, and decorate with good ol' icing in a tube and.. VOILA! I'm no baker, but I like me some cute treats!

Sorry so short.. I'll pay you all a dollar if you continue following me.. ;) If this helps this sorry blog out at all, J dressed Cash after bath time last night.. Two questions: Aren't onesies supposed to buckle INSIDE the pants? & What would they do without me?! Cash didn't have a problem with it one bit..

Be back & sane after competition is over!
