LONGEST DECEMBER POST IN THE LAND..

Hiii strangers! To begin, let me apologize for my horrible blogging skills. If I've offended any of my "many" followers to the point of unfollowing me, I apologize.. You will surely be missed, considering there's a whopping 27 people who view this bad boy.. or at least 27 that admit to following ;) This last M.I.A week has consisted of Christmas decorating, Christmas present wrapping, Christmas shopping, Christmas music, Christmas movies.. and every other noun that could possibly consist of Christmas as it's adjective. I've been especially spirited this year.. I think it's due to the thought of my baby growing up (who is now, by the way, a full blown walker, talker, high-fiver, wave bye-r, dancer, romancer, "yaaaayyy" clapper, and "how old are you cash?" responds with putting up one finger-er.) The kid's a certified genius. My house looks like a slightly more modern, chic & fabulous version of the North Pole, and I've been on a role trying out some collected Christmas recipes, so my house has had a constant smell of All Things Christmas (fresh cookies baking and a brand new Peppermint Cocoa jar candle that I snagged for $5.99 and I'm dying over!) Aside from being over-the-top-festive-to-the-point-of-no-return, I've also been a full blown Kindleista. (Please pardon my made up words in this blog.. it's been a while!) My Kindle has been attached to my left side (Cash is always on my right!) and it's officially a life necessity.. I just finished "Mommywood" by Tori Spelling, and although it had some seriously laughable honest moments, I wouldn't suggest reading it. It was so scattered and had no flow, and by the time I got to the last page (or "click", for those who own a Kindle!) it left me saying "UMMM... So? Uhhh? What's next? Don't waste your money.. On a Lose-your-kid-in-an-airport-and-he-flies-himself-to-NYC note.. Guess what came on last night . . . ;)

Yes, I snapped a picture at the exact moment in which she screamed "KEVVVVVVVVVVIIIIIIIINNNNNN!" I can't look at the picture without screaming it either. LOVE. lovelovelove. I'm convinced that J having a couple great great step half aunts in New York is a perfect excuse to visit Times Square one Christmas when Cash is "of age.." Until then.. we'll spend it in Texas. Good ol' Southeast Tejas, where the weather is 38 degrees one night, and 65 degrees the next afternoon. But tell me, can you eat THESE during December up North!??!

Didn't think so... How cute is this?! Made it for us last night.. The original steps called for an Oreo and Mini Oreo stacked for the hat, but I thought a cherry looked WAY cute! One scoop of plain Vanilla for the body, a fluffly Marshmallow as a head, Twizzlers for the arms, Chocolate Chips for the buttons, Decorators Icing for the eyes and mouth, an Orange candy bit for the nose, and a perfect Cherry on top.. VOILA! A "Frosty" treat for those unpredictable Texas winter heat waves! It may be totally unnecessary to dress up a sundae for you & your 15 month old to share (I'm far from a "normal Mom" I'm sure!) but I did it.. For those of you who wouldn't, this would still be a perfect "Christmas in July Party" treat! Hey Angelina Jolie.. want to borrow my son's lips?

Just sayin'. Oh, and disregard the polka-dotted highwaters.. Me & J got in a little debate about whether "polka dots in a boys room was feminine" one morning, and I put Cash in these for him to come home to that day.. Just to prove that a nursery with polka dots, and CLOTHING with polka dots were two completely different things! =)

Jumping to a new topic, I've been loving all the Christmas cards coming in the mail.. I sent ours out, and I think they're pretty fabulous (pats self on back!) I love thinking of different ways to display the cards from family & friends that I receive in the mail, and although I know more are on the way, here's how I've displayed some of the "early birds".. Damask and feather boa? YES PLEASE! My mom & I found these small photo boards during my baby shower planning at a 99 cent store, and bought out the entire stock.. just TOO good of a buy! A little feathered trim, and some rhinestones and it was totally Stormified!

Here's a close up of the front of our card..

And the back..

Only TEN days until Christmas.. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHALSKJDFLSDK (keyboard excitement!) I"m assuming this will be the last "easy" Christmas at our house.. the last Christmas in which Cash won't be asking for gifts. This year, we put up 6 gifts from his birthday in October that he was still too little for, to wrap and put under the tree for Christmas. I know.. I know.. hold your applause.. Brilliant, right? Might as well savor the moments in which Cash would rather play with the box it came in then the actual toy. I've gotten plenty of warnings from fellow mama's about "Christmas during the Terrible Two's" and I can assure you that between his Mama and Daddy, Cash is bound to be a character and a 1/2 by next Christmas.. Ahh,so many years of wonderful memories & traditions to look forward to! This "catch-up" blog has gotten long enough.. I'm sure you all stopped reading after the sporadic Home Alone tribute.. Not to mention it's been as scattered as the Tori Spelling book I somehow managed to finish..I guess she's rubbing off on me? I'll leave you with this.. The best and easiest Chocolate Chip Pound Cake recipe around.. WARNING: If you are on a diet during the holidays, do yourself a favor and press the tiny [x] on the right hand side of your screen.. or just stay as far away as you can from my blog in general.. and from ME too.. because WHO in their right mind would diet during the holidays?!?!
