Okay, maybe the title was a little fooling. I doubt that Cash's daddy would EVER let his son be a gymnast. . Cash is ALL BOY in every way! However, this is solid proof that if football, basketball, baseball or soccer didn't work out, he could totally be America's Next Gymnastics Superstar.

I rest my case. I walked in to see this new "trick", and I couldn't stop laughing. Now it's his go to stunt to make anyone and EVERYONE laugh.. No clue how he came up with this one..
Anywho, we're now one day closer to Thanksgiving, leaving us only 10 days away from the "BIG DAY" (hence my sarcasm?) I decided to compile a list of my favorite Thanksgiving movies, as well as a couple of books I picked up for Cash. By the way, I don't know if this is usual with all one year olds, but my son has a HUGE obsession with books! His daddy almost had a fit when I told those invited to his birthday party that "we" wanted books, but now he realizes exactly why I did so! Cash will go into his room, pick a book off of the shelf, and bring it to me to read. When it's over, he'll sit for about 15 minutes babbling to himself with various inflection and flipping the pages. Hopefully he reads super early and has a lifelong love for books like his Mama ;) Here's the list!

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE THANKSGIVING - DAV PILKEY
"Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the nation. Families got ready, for the big celebration." <--- Please tell me this won you over with the first line like it did me?! This book is warm and whimsical, and follows the process of the feast being prepared, the family arriving, and giving thanks. It has fun, vibrant illustrations, and a cute story line. LOVED IT!
A PLUMP AND PERKY TURKEY - TERESA BATEMAN
Once again, if this time the TITLE didn't win you over, you're officially banned from this blog! How much cuter can it get? This book follows the journey of a turkey named Pete who stays around when all the other turkeys flee town for Thanksgiving. The illustrations were cute, but the wording isn't near "short & to the point" enough for a one year old.. especially a hyper, overly-animated one like mine. Glad to have it though.. because it'll be interesting enough for years to come!

I KNOW AN OLD LADY WHO SWALLOWED A FLY - ALISON JACKSON
This one is by far my FAVORITE of all! A spin-off of the classic story, "I Know an Old Lady Who Swallow a Fly", this perfect book follows an old lady who swallows the ENTIRE Thanksgiving meal! It bypasses the traditional pilgrim story, and goes straight to the fun part.. FOOD! "She swallowed the cider to moisten the pie, The Thanksgiving pie, which was really too dry, Perhaps she'll die." That's ALL I can give you.. You HAVE to pick this one up for your little ones! love love love
& now for movies..
A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING

This one's a give in! I don't remember a holiday growing up NOT including the Charlie Brown Holiday stories.. My parents would ALWAYS have us watch them as a family, even when I was a little too old and occupied with other things. The Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stories from Charles Schultz will ALWAYS have a dear place in my heart, and thankfully now Cash's. He loves them almost as much as I do.. Do yourself a favor.. find the day that these come on ABC prime time and WATCH THEM!
POCAHONTAS

So this may not be my FAVORITE Disney movie of all time (although there really isn't such thing as a BAD one!?) but during Thanksgiving this is a perfect one for kids. I plan on introducing this classic to Cash next year, to begin potraying the story of the Pilgrims & Indians to him.. The story is accurate enough to use for educational purposes, but fun enough to keep small kids enticed.
Hope this worked as a beneficial list for ya'll!
