I have the honor of being a bridesmaid in the wedding of one of my dear friends, Melissa, this March. She's one of the sweetest people I know, and since I have a passion for event planning, it only seems right that I host her a bridal shower! Her wedding is going to be accented in turquoise, so I thought I would put a feminine twist on the aqua scheme, and throw her a Tiffany & Co. style bridal shower. "MELLISA & CO." I've dabbled a bit in graphic design, so instead of spending $200+ on invitations that were "up to par with my expectations" I decided to make my own.. It still needs to be perfected, but here is my idea for her invites:

We've yet to set a date, so the information is clearly just for design purposes, but I'm excited to get to working on this project. I'll post periodically when new ideas/designs come to my head. In the meantime, 39 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!! Um, I mean 10 DAYS UNTIL THANKSGIVING.. Pardon my lack of exclamation points, or excitement.. Aside from an amazing meal and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the only thing I look forward to on Thanksgiving is putting my CHRISTMAS decorations up! Just for kicks, I DID find this cutesy "turkey sandwich" online, that I plan to make for my little turkey, Cash.

It looks like they used either various sized round cookie cutters, (or in my case: a large drinking glass and a champagne glass!) to cut circles out of turkey sandwiches on wheat bread, and layer them for the base of the turkey's body. Then, they used slices of red, orange, and yellow bell peppers for the tail feathers, feet, nose, and wattle. Being that I don't know ANY kid that would enjoy a sandwich with a side of bell peppers, I plan on using red and yellow apple slices for the feathers, beak, and wattle & carrot sticks for the feet. Hope this helps put ya'll in the spirit, although I doubt it will for me!
