I WHIP MY HAIR BACK & FORTH..

Since Cash was born, he's had a serious love for music.. and THIS couldn't make me more proud! My parents always had me in piano lessons, or some sort of musical theater, and as far back as I can remember I've always been fond of classical music. J's mom always had Bob Marley, or anything categorically Caribbean playing in the house, and it just so happens that Cash loves BOTH of these kinds of music. Since he was a month old, as soon as anything sounded as if it had a "beat" he'd move his body back and forth.. As the month's went by, his dancing skills got a little more skilled and technical. Some were failures, some were not.. One thing remained consistent: They were all HILARIOUS! I can see this kid owning the dance floor at his junior high dances.. (Luckily, I won't be left out of this.. because I'll probably be chaperoning this dance. I bet he'll just LOVE that!) I've seen 2 or 3 year olds dance, but the only other instance I've heard of a kid starting at 1 month was during Oprah's interview with Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson. In this interview, she claims that Michael swayed back in forth to the beat of the WASHING MACHINE when he was as young as 6 months old.. If one day Cash performs anything like Michael Jackson, (minus all the child molestation rumors and numerous nose jobs!) let me just tell ya, I'll be ONE PROUD MAMA! With Will Smith's cutesy 10 year old daughter, Willow Smith's new song "Whip My Hair" becoming a huge hit, I only felt it fair that I let my music lovin' toddler in on all the hype.. His reaction to this song speaks for itself..

Yes.. that just happened. As if couldn't get any worse, I attempted to broaden my child's musical taste by putting on a little country music.. Once again, his reaction speaks for itself. Be sure & check out the eye he cuts me towards the end of this video. "MOM, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME??!?!"

So the kid doesn't like country music.. At least I can cross off my list of chances that he'd grow a mullet and attempt to be the next Billy Ray Cyrus..

Anyway, on a LET'S SKIP THANKSGIVING & GO STRAIGHT TO CHRISTMAS NOTE, MY super hip mama that brings all my genius ideas to life helped me create the Christmas Tree Skirt design I had in mind for our tree this Christmas. . I can't wait to pull this bad boy out next Thursday! My living room had black/white damask accents, so I only found it fitting that my Christmas tree skirt be the same..

Pretty fabulous if I do say so myself.. J thinks it isn't necessary to have a tree skirt that matches your house, but that's one of the perks of having a FH (future husband..get to know this term!) that stays out of the decorating department, and lets me do my thang! I can't wait to put my tree together! Today I went to pick up all the ornaments, wrapping paper, and a couple few accessories I'll need to decorate around the house. My most important purchase I made, however, was at Kohl's. My best friend Ashley is taking Cash & I to see the musical production of Dr Seuss's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in a couple weeks, so I wanted to pick up a new copy of the book for Cash to get familiar with it before we go. I heard online about the KohlsCares for Kids collection, and had to stop and check it out. 100% of the proceeds from the Dr. Seuss collection will be donated to support kid's health and education initiatives nationwide. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING feels better to me than giving a little back! Not to mention I had one happy kid after leaving with these bad boys..

Happy Thursday, loves!
